Hewaida Ramly designs and crafts her pieces at her London based Studio. Ramly’s diverse educational background allows her to infuse her work with the principles of architectural imaging and spatial design. She believes that art is essential to human existence. Her architectural training informs her approach to jewellery design, enabling her to create pieces that not only adorn but also tell a story, echoing the structural and aesthetic qualities of built environments. Her creations often draw inspiration from antique objects, which she imbues with symbolic meaning derived from architecture, art, and her cultural heritage. This website features a selection of hallmarked gold and sterling silver articles, many adorned with lapis lazuli and other rare stones, reflecting a timeless appeal from both the BC and AD eras. Each piece showcases an artful balance of contrast and toning to highlight colour and form. Ramly’s designs are characterised by asymmetry and organic shapes, embracing a sense of fluidity. She believes that a true work of art should stand alone rather than merely copying another piece. As she states, “We will never engage in any form of mass production of my work or designs. I am committed to creating one-of-a-kind pieces that express the essence of art and sculpture, fostering a sense of personal uniqueness for those who purchase my creations. The machine destroys the connection between the artist and the consumer.”  Ramly has crafted bespoke pieces for a diverse audience, including artists, musicians, and scientists worldwide. Her work has been exhibited with Craft Central UK and has been showcased - or chosen - in notable venues such as the Royal Academy in London, Soho in New York, and various exhibitions in Germany.
